An older factory building in Grand Rapids, on Monroe Avenue. Built in 1872 by the Grand Rapids Chair Co, it has more recently been a storage facility.
I was thinking about what to do with this tunnel to the service area for several buildings in downtown Grand Rapids when this mail carrier made his appearance. Perject. He gave the photo a mysterious quality, especially when it is rendered with a norish black and white tone.
When I walked by this little tunnel to the back door of a building, I was struck by the color and the light and shadow. It also was perfectly frame. It's a mystery to me where the door goes, because I decided not to look and find out.
